Laundry Attendant

The Male Laundry Attendant is responsible for handling all hotel laundry operations, ensuring that guest clothing, bed linens, towels, uniforms, and other laundry items are properly washed, dried, ironed, folded, and stored according to hotel standards.

Laundry Operations:

·         Collect, sort, and separate dirty laundry according to fabric type, color, and washing requirements.

·         Wash, dry, iron, fold, and organize guest laundry, hotel linens, towels, and uniforms.

·         Operate washing machines, dryers, ironing machines, and other laundry equipment safely.

·         Ensure all laundry items are properly cleaned, pressed, folded, and presented.

·         Handle guest laundry with care and ensure timely delivery.

·         Check laundry items for stains, damage, or missing items and report any issues.

Laundry Room Maintenance:

·         Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry room.

·         Keep laundry equipment and work areas clean and in good condition.

·         Ensure proper separation and storage of clean and dirty laundry.

·         Report equipment malfunctions and maintenance requirements.

Guest Service:

·         Handle guest laundry requests politely and professionally.

·         Ensure guest laundry is processed and delivered on time.

·         Maintain confidentiality and take proper care of guests' personal belongings.

·         Report lost, damaged, or misplaced laundry items immediately.

Coordinate with the Housekeeping Supervisor and other hotel departments

Equipment & Supplies Management:

·         Use laundry detergents, cleaning chemicals, and other supplies safely.

·         Monitor stock levels of detergents and laundry materials.

·         Report shortages of supplies when necessary.

·         Follow proper procedures for handling and storing laundry chemicals.

Health, Safety & Hygiene:

·         Follow hotel hygiene, sanitation, and safety standards.

·         Maintain personal cleanliness and professional grooming.

·         Follow safety procedures when operating laundry machinery.

·         Use protective equipment when required.

·         Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment.

Qualifications & Experience:

·         High school diploma or equivalent education.

·         Minimum 3–5 years of experience in laundry operations, preferably in a hotel environment.

·         Previous experience in a four-star or five-star hotel is an advantage.

·         Knowledge of washing, drying, ironing, stain removal, and fabric care procedures.

·         Experience operating commercial laundry equipment is preferred.

·         Previous experience working with international hotels or foreign organizations is an advantage.

·         Must be comfortable working on rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays when required.

Language Requirements

·         Good command of English (spoken and basic written communication) is essential and mandatory.

·         Fluency in Dari or Pashto is required.

·         Ability to understand and follow basic laundry instructions in English.

·         Ability to communicate professionally with hotel staff and international guests when required.
