The role focuses on strategic leadership, secure and scalable infrastructure, regulatory compliance, and building a high-performing engineering team, all aligned with organizational business goals, customer needs, and industry standards.
The CTO will own the end-to-end technology function for Ramaki's fintech operations, from strategic planning and team development to vendor management and system reliability. Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership and Decision-Making
• Define the technology vision, strategy, and roadmap in line with business goals.
• Work with the CEO and executive team on product, growth, and investment decisions.
• Lead, hire, and develop the engineering team across backend, frontend, mobile and UI/UX.
• Report on technology progress, risks, and budget to the board and investors.
Cybersecurity and Infrastructure
• Oversee the security approach and make sure security is built into the platform.
• Ensure infrastructure, customer data protection, backup, and disaster recovery meet business needs and payment security standards such as PCI DSS.
Regulatory, Risk and Compliance Support
• Work with Compliance and Risk teams so systems support EMI requirements such as safeguarding, KYC/AML and transaction monitoring.
• Support audits and regulator or partner reviews on technical matters.
Technology Innovation and Vendor Management
• Select and manage technology vendors and partners, such as payment processors, card providers, banking partners and KYC providers, and own the technology budget.
• Evaluate new technologies that improve efficiency, security or customer experience.
Systems and Service Availability and Reliability
• Ensure the platform is reliable, scalable and available, with accurate transaction processing, clear SLAs and monitoring.
• Establish engineering processes for development, testing, release, and incident management.
Job requirements
• 7+ years in software engineering, including 3+ years in fintech.
• Led engineering teams of 10+ across backend, frontend, mobile, and design.
• Launched and ran a regulated payments, e-money, banking, or card product.
• Strong in distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and secure engineering.
• Knowledge of EMI and payments regulation, KYC/AML and safeguarding.
• Clear communicator with the board, regulators and non-technical colleagues.
