Position Summary:

The Finance Officer will be responsible for managing and supporting the company's day-to-day financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, cash management, payroll, financial reporting, and internal financial controls. The position will ensure that financial transactions are accurately recorded, properly documented, and handled in compliance with Ulearna Technologies LLC policies and applicable laws and regulations. The Finance Officer will also work closely with management and relevant departments to support financial planning, monitoring, reporting, and effective use of company resources.

Duties & responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate accounting records, financial documents, and supporting documentation for all company transactions.

  • Record and process income, expenses, payments, receipts, bank transactions, and other financial activities.

  • Assist in preparing and monitoring company, departmental, and project budgets and provide regular variance reports.

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, including vendor payments, customer receipts, and outstanding balances.

  • Manage petty cash, bank accounts, cash flow, and conduct regular cash and bank reconciliations.

  • Support the preparation and processing of monthly payroll, staff advances, reimbursements, deductions, and other employee-related payments.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable tax laws, statutory requirements, and the company's financial policies and procedures.

  • Prepare timely monthly and periodic financial reports, including income and expenditure, cash flow, and budget reports.

  • Monitor and report financial performance of software development projects, digital products, and other company activities.

  • Review financial documents related to procurement, contracts, purchases, and vendor transactions to ensure proper authorization and documentation.

  • Maintain effective internal financial controls and identify and report financial discrepancies, risks, or irregularities.

  • Support management with financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and information required for business decision-making.

  • Maintain organized, secure, and confidential financial records and safeguard company funds and financial assets.

  • Support internal and external audits by preparing financial records, responding to queries, and providing required documentation.

  • Perform other finance and accounting duties assigned by the supervisor or management.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field Master’s degree is preferred

  • Proven work experience of 3 years in related field.

  • Knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks is a must.

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including formulas, financial analysis, and reporting.

  • Excellent proficiency in written and verbal communication in English, Dari, Pashto.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
