Shams London Academy, one of the leading private school networks in Afghanistan with multiple branches nationwide, is seeking an experienced and highly qualified Financial Audit Manager to join its Central Office.

The Financial Audit Manager will be responsible for planning, managing, and overseeing financial audit activities across the Central Office and all school branches. The position will ensure that financial transactions, records, revenues, expenditures, cash and bank operations, procurement, payroll, assets, and other financial activities are properly recorded, supported, authorised, and compliant with organisational policies and internal controls.

The role will work closely with senior management, Finance, Administration, and school management teams to identify financial risks, detect irregularities, strengthen internal controls, and ensure effective financial accountability across the organisation.

The Financial Audit Manager will also lead the follow-up of audit findings, conduct special financial reviews and investigations when required, and provide practical recommendations to improve financial systems, reduce risks, and strengthen organisational efficiency and transparency.

This position is vital to maintaining strong financial governance, accountability, internal control, and compliance, while ensuring that the highest standards of financial integrity and professional auditing are maintained throughout Shams London Academy.

Job requirements

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Audit, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is an advantage.

  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in financial auditing, accounting, or finance. Previous managerial or supervisory experience will be considered an advantage.

  • Strong professional knowledge of Financial Auditing, Internal Controls, Risk Management, and Accounting principles and practices.

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to review financial documents, identify discrepancies and irregularities, and prepare clear and professional audit reports.

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and accounting/financial management systems.

  • High level of accuracy, integrity, impartiality, professional independence, confidentiality, and attention to detail.

  • Fluency in Dari and Pashto is required. Strong proficiency in English will be considered an advantage.
