The Technical Field Maintenance & Operations Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating field technical operations, preventive and corrective maintenance, telecom site support, technical teams, vendors, and operational activities to ensure high network availability, timely fault resolution, quality execution, and compliance with safety and company standards.
Duties & responsibilities
-Field Operations Management
Manage and supervise all technical field maintenance and operational activities.
Ensure all assigned sites and network equipment remain operational and meet required performance standards.
Coordinate field teams, technicians and vendors to ensure timely execution of work.
-Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
Plan and monitor preventive maintenance activities for telecom sites and technical equipment.
Ensure timely response to equipment failures, alarms, outages, and other technical issues.
Monitor corrective maintenance activities and ensure faults are resolved within agreed SLA timelines.
Telecom Site & Network Support
Oversee maintenance of BTS, BSC/RNC, LTE/5G equipment, transmission systems, MW links, power systems, rectifiers, batteries, DGs, and other site infrastructure.
Coordinate with NOC, TX Planning, Power, BSS, and other technical teams to resolve network-related issues.
Ensure site availability and minimize service interruptions.
-Team Management
Assign field teams according to workload, priority, and technical requirements.
Monitor team performance, attendance, productivity, and work quality.
Provide technical guidance and support to field engineers and technicians.
Arrange training and improve the technical capabilities of field personnel.
-Project & Work Execution
Coordinate site installation, integration, relocation, upgrade, dismantling, and maintenance activities.
Ensure work is completed according to approved SOW, drawings, technical standards, and project schedules.
Coordinate ATP activities and ensure sites are properly prepared for acceptance.
-Operations Coordination
Coordinate closely with the customer, NOC, Operations team, vendors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
Follow up on pending SRs, POs, OPs, materials, equipment, and site access.
Escalate critical issues and delays to management with appropriate action plans.
Power & Infrastructure Management
Monitor site power systems, including DGs, rectifiers, batteries, AC/DC systems, and power distribution.
Coordinate with power teams for power-related issues and upgrades.
Ensure backup power systems are available to prevent site outages.
-Safety & Quality Control
Ensure all field activities comply with HSE and company safety requirements.
Monitor the quality of installation, maintenance, and construction work.
Ensure teams use appropriate PPE and follow approved safety procedures.
-Reporting & Documentation
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational and maintenance reports.
Monitor KPIs, site availability, outage duration, MTTR, preventive maintenance status, and team productivity.
Maintain proper records of site activities, equipment, materials, faults, and completed work.
Material & Equipment Management
Coordinate the collection, delivery, installation, and return of technical equipment and spare parts.
Monitor material consumption and ensure proper utilization of company/customer assets.
Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams for required equipment and materials.
