Aurum Afghanistan Electronic Money Institution (AurumPay) is seeking a responsible, accurate, and customer-focused Project Assistant to support operations at the assigned government collection location.

The successful candidate will be responsible for processing customer transactions through the approved POS system, collecting and safeguarding cash, issuing receipts, supporting daily reconciliation, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with approved project SOPs and cash-control procedures.

Duties & responsibilities

  • Receive and assist customers professionally and respectfully.

  • Verify customer and transaction information before processing payments.

  • Process customer payments accurately through the approved POS system.

  • Issue approved receipts or transaction references to customers.

  • Operate and safeguard the assigned POS terminal and related equipment.

  • Collect and safeguard customer cash and maintain accurate cash records.

  • Support daily reconciliation of POS transactions, cash collected, receipts, and deposits.

  • Immediately report cash shortages, excesses, transaction discrepancies, and operational issues.

  • Identify and report failed, pending, reversed, duplicate, or disputed transactions.

  • Maintain required daily transaction and operational reports.

  • Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate unresolved issues to the supervisor.

  • Protect customer, government, and transaction information and maintain confidentiality.

  • Follow all approved cash-handling, POS-security, fraud-prevention, and operational procedures.

  • Coordinate with the assigned government focal person regarding operational and customer-service matters.

  • Maintain proper attendance, discipline, handover, and accountability at the assigned location.

Job requirements

Education:

  • Minimum 12th-grade/high school certificate.

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, IT, or a related field is an advantage.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in cash handling, banking, mobile money, POS operations, customer service, finance, retail, or similar operations is preferred.

  • Experience with digital payment systems is an advantage.

  • Experience working in government-facing projects is an advantage.
