8. Perform regular patrols and inspections to detect faults based on noise, temperature, vibration, or visual indicators.

9. Maintain accurate and up-to-date shift logs, equipment status records, and operational reports.

10. Support and implement all company Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) procedures and standards.

11. Operate plant equipment such as valves, pumps, compressors, and the standby generator (BSDG), as per operational requirements.

12. Participate in periodic maintenance tasks such as oil changes, engine cleaning, water washing, and filter replacements.

13. Assist in the preparation of technical reports during overhauls, repairs, and inspections of mechanical equipment.

14. Guide maintenance teams in troubleshooting and solving mechanical faults affecting plant performance.

15. Monitor condition-based performance data and support predictive maintenance strategies.

16. Assist in spare parts specification and procurement processes for mechanical systems.

17. Coordinate with DABS NLCC and AGE dispatching for load scheduling and reporting, including drafting clear communication reports.

21. Carry out any other duties assigned by the Control Room Engineer, Shift Charge Engineer, or O&M Manager.

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, with practical experience in power systems and industrial equipment.

2. Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in mechanical engineering, preferably within power generation facilities, thermal plants, or heavy industrial environments.

3. Comprehensive understanding of mechanical design principles, including thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, materials science, and industrial manufacturing processes relevant to power plant systems.

4. Proven ability to perform regular equipment inspections, diagnostics, and routine patrols to ensure the safe and efficient operation of mechanical systems, including turbines, pumps, compressors, valves, piping systems, and heat exchangers.

5. Skilled in troubleshooting and supporting the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and compliance with operational standards.

6. Familiarity with industrial control systems, plant operation protocols, and auxiliary systems, including lubrication and cooling systems commonly used in power plants.

7. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with shift teams.

8. Thorough knowledge of Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) management systems, with consistent adherence to safety procedures, risk assessments, and emergency response protocols during patrol and maintenance activities.
