The Structural Design Engineer is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and coordinating structural designs and drawings for RCC and steel structures, including foundations, columns, beams, slabs, shear walls, and other structural components. The role involves producing Structural/RCC drawings, execution drawings, reinforcement details, and Bar Bending Schedules (BBS). The engineer ensures that structural drawings are accurate, coordinated, and approved before being issued for construction. This position also requires close coordination with architectural, MEP, and other disciplines, assessment of actual site conditions, and timely resolution of design issues and discrepancies to ensure successful project delivery.
Duties & responsibilities
Design drawings for RCC and steel structures, including foundations, columns, beams, slabs, shear walls, and other structural components.
Prepare Structural / RCC drawings and construction/shop drawings.
Prepare reinforcement details and Bar Bending Schedule (BBS).
Review and check structural drawings before issuing them for construction.
Coordinate structural drawings with architectural, MEP, and other discipline drawings.
Assess site conditions and align the design with the actual project conditions.
Review and resolve design issues and discrepancies.
Job requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture / Civil Engineering.
At least 3 years of relevant work experience in structural drawing design.
Ability to prepare execution/shop drawings and reinforcement detailing.
Familiarity with ACI, ASCE, IBC, and other relevant standards.
Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
High accuracy in calculations and drawing preparation.
Ability to coordinate effectively with the design team and site team.
Full proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp.
Knowledge of Autodesk Revit and Excel is considered an advantage.
