Shams London Academy, one of the leading private school networks in Afghanistan with multiple branches nationwide, is seeking an experienced and highly qualified Human Resources Manager to join its Central Office.

The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the organization’s overall human resources functions, ensuring effective recruitment, employee management, performance evaluation, staff development, and compliance with HR policies and applicable regulations.

The role will work closely with senior management and school administration teams to ensure that the right people are recruited, employees are effectively managed and developed, and HR policies and procedures are consistently implemented across all branches.

This position is vital to strengthening organisational efficiency, maintaining professional employee relations, supporting staff development, and ensuring that the highest standards of HR management are maintained throughout Shams London Academy Schools.

Duties & responsibilities

·         Develop, implement, and update HR policies, procedures, and regulations in line with organisational requirements and labour laws.

·         Manage the full recruitment and selection process, including vacancy announcements, CV screening, interviews, and hiring.

·         Maintain confidential personnel records and manage employment contracts, promotions, transfers, renewals, and terminations.

·         Monitor attendance, leave, discipline, employee performance, and ensure compliance with HR policies and regulations.

·         Develop performance appraisal, employee retention, motivation, career development, and professional growth systems.

·         Identify training needs and coordinate staff capacity-building and professional development programs.

·         Handle employee grievances and disciplinary matters professionally and provide HR advice and recommendations to senior management.

·         Prepare HR reports and workforce plans, coordinate with Finance on payroll matters, and ensure consistent HR implementation across all schools and branches.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Social Science, Business Administration, Management, or a related field, with at least 5-7 years of relevant experience.

  • Proven knowledge of recruitment, personnel management, performance appraisal, employment contracts, and disciplinary procedures.

  • Strong leadership, communication, decision-making, conflict-resolution, and team-management skills.

  • Fluency in Dari and Pashto is required. Strong proficiency in English will be considered an advantage.

  • Proficiency in MS Office, Oodu and HRIS is an advantage.
