The Estimation Engineer is responsible for project material estimation, sub-contractor invoice/payment preparation/review and comparison with the sub-contract documents. The role ensures compliance with technical, commercial, and contractual requirements while acting as a coordination point between internal teams, and subcontractors.
Project Estimation Management:
Review and analyze project documents including Drawing, technical specifications, and BOQs.
Identify key technical, commercial, and contractual requirements, including associated risks.
Coordinate with engineering, and procurement, to develop compliant and competitive estimation documents.
Obtain and evaluate quotations from local and international vendors and subcontractors.
Prepare and submit complete project estimation packages (technical and quantity) within deadlines.
Review and verify sub-contractor invoices.
Identify risks, deviations in sub-contract documents.
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with suppliers, and subcontractors.
Prepare contractual correspondence such as clarifications, deviations, and compliance statements.
Ensure all sub-contracts align with company policies and project requirements.
Technical Coordination:
Coordinate with design and engineering teams to prepare:
Project Material Technical specifications
Project Material Quantity
Reference Design drawings and inputs
And other compliance documentation
Bid Clarifications & Negotiations:
Prepare responses to client queries and clarification requests.
Participate in pre-bid meetings and technical/commercial discussions.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain organized records of all project estimation and contractual documents.
Prepare project BOQ and material estimation summaries, comparison sheets, and reports.
Monitor sub-contractor invoice status and maintain an updated invoice payment record sheet.
Post-Award Support:
Support in sub-contract document preparation.
Assist in preparation of project long lead item list preparation.
Monitor contractual obligations, variations, and claims during project execution.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/structure Engineering
Experience:
4–7 years of relevant experience in the power sector (Transmission, Substations, Distribution)
Proven experience in project estimation, contract management, and EPC projects
Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of Project Material Estimation.
Strong knowledge of Project Design Drawing specification understanding and review
Proficiency in MS Excel, BOQ analysis, and contract tools
Strong communication, coordination, and analytical skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Reporting & Supervision:
Reports directly to the Project Manager
Works closely with Engineering, Procurement, Finance, and Project Teams
